JPMA Expands Awareness through Southern California Events
Last week, members of the JPMA team traveled to the west coast for a series of meetings and events that fostered fellowship and excitement for our association’s mission. The week began with the JPMA Board of Directors meeting which took place at the location of the 2017 JPMA Baby Show in Anaheim, California. The board was able to put themselves in the shoes of an event attendee by staying and meeting in the Marriott Anaheim headquarters hotel, and walking the internal and external convention center space that will host the much anticipated inaugural JPMA Baby Show.
That evening, area manufacturers, retailers and sales representatives joined the Board of Directors for an industry reception, sponsored by The NPD Group. JPMA looks forward to these events which are generally held once or twice a year in different regions of the country. Often the team finds that local manufacturers make positive connections that support ongoing networking with their peers. The reception also provided the opportunity to hear more about the JPMA Baby Show as the priority membership booth sales period came to a close. This in person opportunity allowed JPMA to convert both membership and event prospects into participants.
The JPMA team then hit the road in Southern California, visiting a number of manufacturers in the area including Munchkin, Ju-Ju-Be, Balboa Baby, Newport Cottages, Crown Crafts Infant Products, Inc., Bugaboo, Lambs & Ivy and Mattel.
“JPMA truly values the time we spend visiting the headquarters of our members around the country,” says Kelly Mariotti, Executive Director, JPMA. “We receive valuable feedback, are able to update members on industry initiatives, and build lasting relationships amongst staff and member company employees.”
In addition to Southern California, JPMA has visited with members in New England, Northern California, St. Louis and Atlanta in the previous three years.
Each time, our team has built on existing relationships and advanced engagement around the country. Be on the lookout in the coming year for our 2017 regional event opportunities.
