JPMA Baby Show FAQs

What is the JPMA Baby Show?
The JPMA Baby Show is a five-day juvenile products industry trade event with three days of trade show exhibits, a day-and-a-half of educational programming, culminating with a one day consumer baby event which will be the largest consumer baby show in North America.

Who can attend the trade show?
Manufacturers, retailers, members of the press, sales representatives, non-profit safety organizations, NGO’s, other industry stakeholders. 

How many people is JPMA expecting at the JPMA Baby Show?
5,000 exhibitors, juvenile product buyers, distributors, manufacturers and media from across the globe. 

How many companies does JPMA expect to exhibit at the JPMA Baby Show?
JPMA anticipates 150 – 250 exhibitors.

What else will happen at the JPMA Baby Show?
The event kicks off with two days of educational programming consisting of multiple tracks on legislative and regulatory topics, business best practices, innovations and trends, with an eye to the programming needs of all company sizes and all industry participants. The JPMA Baby Show will host the annual JPMA Innovation Awards program and provide exhibitors with new opportunities for media exposure. The trade show hall opens Wednesday through Friday. Friday evening exhibitors have time to make any necessary changes to their booth for the Saturday consumer event. Additionally, the event includes plenty of networking opportunities and social events.

If I can only attend one trade event a year, why should I go to the JPMA Baby Show?
The JPMA Baby Show is the only juvenile products industry event that combines an educational conference, trade show and consumer day rolled into one, with one exhibit fee. Exhibitors are able to reach the trade community as well as consumers with one event set-up and one booth expense. This is especially compelling for exhibitors seeking to expand their consumer touch points, drive consumer interaction, or for companies new to the consumer show experience.  

Do I still get JPMA discounts on my ABC booth space?
ABC extended discounts in 2016 to members that fit ABC requirements. Per ABC, JPMA member discounts on ABC booth space will be eliminated starting in 2017. JPMA suggests JPMA members contact ABC directly with any questions specific to the ABC Show.  

What is going on with the Innovations Awards usually hosted at the ABC Expo?
The next JPMA Innovation Awards will take place at the JPMA Baby Show in Washington D.C. in 2018.

When can I reserve my booth?

Who can exhibit?

JPMA Baby Show - trade event: Manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors, service providers, safety non-profits and NGOs, other industry-related businesses. 

DC Baby Show - consumer show: Local and national retailers, local family-related services, manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors, service providers, food services, safety non-profits and NGOs, other industry-related businesses.

Do I have to be a JPMA Member to exhibit?
No, you do not have to be a member, however, exclusive member discounts and other benefits will make a compelling, and cost-effective case for membership. To learn more about JPMA Membership, contact Lauren Pfeiffer.

Will JPMA continue to hold the Spring Summit in D.C.?
Content typical of what you would find at the JPMA Summit will be included in the conference programming in the early part of the JPMA Baby Show week.

How many attendees do you expect at the DC Baby Show?
JPMA and Family Media anticipate more than 2,000 families at the DC Baby Show.

How is the show different than any of the other consumer baby shows?
The DC Baby Show will be one of the largest consumer baby shows in North America. With its links to both JPMA and Family Media, exhibitors can look at it as if it is a free consumer opportunity for the price of their already committed trade show exhibit. 

What will consumers find at the DC Baby Show?
New products, new parent education, product safety information, a car seat check, stroller track, and a myriad of other family-friendly activities.  

Do I have to be a JPMA member to exhibit at any of the Baby Show Series events?
No, you do not have to be a member to exhibit. However, exclusive member discounts and other benefits make a compelling, and cost-effective case for membership. Members are given priority access to the limited amount of consumer show only space sales.

Why is JPMA getting into consumer shows?
JPMA has entered the consumer show arena as it aligns strategically with JPMA’s mission of educating parents and caregivers on safe use and selection of juvenile products. JPMA members place a high priority on consumer touch points. Not only will these events give manufacturers access to consumers to build brand awareness, proceeds from The Baby Show Series will fund JPMA’s legislative, regulatory and certification programs as well as important baby safety consumer awareness campaigns.

Why is JPMA partnering with Family Media on consumer shows?
Family Media, LLC is the publisher of New York Family magazine and producer of the successful New York Baby Show, currently the largest consumer baby show in North America. Through their diversified platform of print, online and social media Family Media speaks directly to expecting and new parents and are a trusted resource to the trade and consumer audience. JPMA shares in Family Media’s aggressive plan for growth, and there are a wide range of synergies in the two company’s goals and culture.

How much will it cost to exhibit at the DC Baby Show?
Exhibitors at the JPMA Baby Show in DC pay one price and enjoy one move-in for the combined trade and consumer events. A limited amount of spaces will be offered to local businesses for Saturday only. For more information, contact Director of Sales, John Hurley.  

Who can exhibit at the DC Baby Show (consumer show day)?
Local and national retailers, local family-related services, manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors, service providers, safety non-profits and NGOs, other industry-related businesses. Sales will be made on space available basis and companies exhibiting in the combined trade and consumer event will be given priority.
